Hanasaku Iroha – Post Thoughts

Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home

So I recently got around to watching Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home several months after I had seen the original series. While watching the movie, I was suddenly reminded about all the aspects that made me enjoy this series so much. The amount of character development shown throughout the series along with the characters’ relationships mixed with the relaxing slice of life aspect of the show made it a really enjoyable watch for me back in the day. When I heard there would be a movie for Hanasaku, I was initially thrilled but after hearing it would just be a side story I was kind of let down and lost a lot of my initial hype. However, I was pleasantly surprised for the actual content and story of the movie. Continue reading

Anime Recommendation (4) – Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (AnoHana)

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these but here we go! For this post, I am recommending the series AnoHana, or “We Still Don’t Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day” which is a pretty dramatic, slice of life series with some supernatural elements to it. Anime Recommendation (3) – Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai!

Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai!: Pokkapoka

This week I’m recommending a more light hearted series that is not action based. Papa no Iukoto wo Kikinasai! (Listen to me girls I am your father!) is a romantic, comedic, slice of life series that has a bit of a love triangle or harem element to it. This was one of the first series that I picked up when I first got back into anime last year and it just fueled my desire to continue delve further into the anime world.

Synopsis from Myanimelist:

“Segawa Yuta is a freshman of a university. He lost his parents when he was small and was raised by his sister Yuri. Yuta has been living alone since Yuri got married to a middle aged man when Yuta was a junior high student.

One day, Yuri visited Yuta’s apartment and asked him to take care of her three daughters while Yuri and her husband were on a trip. He unwillingly accepted the job but the plane Yuri took went missing. In order to prevent the daughters from being adopted separately by relatives, Yuta decided to take in all three girls.

A life of a strange family in a tiny apartment begins.” Continue reading
